Cheap and Free Summer Activities for the Kids!


Summer is coming so I thought I would compile a list of things you can use to keep your little one's busy during the dog days of Summer!

If you're still looking for camps, Familyeguide has a great round up for you!


Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse is back for summer 2011! Purchase your tickets in advance and get a 10 movies pass for $5! Movies are 50 cents/ticket with the pass.

The movies are rated G or PG for families and these are a perfect way activity to get out of the house (and the heat) this summer. If you don't want to commit to see every movie, you can go for just $1 each!

Check for participating theatres near you, you can also get the schedule of movies for 2011.



Climb aboard the Summer Movie Express for 9 weeks of movie entertainment for only $1.00

Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected "G" or "PG" movies for only one dollar on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 am.

Everyone is invited to take part in this summer movie series.  Find a theatre near you or buy your tickets online!  Have some popcorn for me!

Barnes & Noble has announced their Summer Reading Program! You can earn a Free Book when your child reads 8 books throughout the Summer (May 24th - September 6th). Just download your form here!




Pottery Barn Kids Book Club- Pottery Barn Kids holds story time every Tuesday from 11:00-11:30. (Check your local store to confirm the time and date). After attending 5 times, your child will receive a free gift.



Kids Bowl Free is back again this summer! Everyday Kids get 2 games of bowling for FREE!

Free Bowling at AMF: Your whole family can bowl free by joining the AMF eClub. Receive a coupon for up to 10 free games (one for each member in your party). Coupon expires 30 days from signing up.


KIDS BOWL FREE!!!

Select bowling centers around the country are participating in the first ever Kids Bowl Free program. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer.

Children 15 and under are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating bowling centers.

Bass Pro- Free Activities and Crafts on Tuesdays and Thursdays!


Apple Summer Camps: Select Apple Retail stores are holding summer camps where kids can make movies, create photo slideshows, write and record songs, put on a show for everyone, and learn how to do new things on a Mac. Apple Camp occurs at selected Apple Retail Stores, and each free workshop lasts three hours. Recommended for kids ages 8-12.


Target Arts + Culture: Target sponsors 2200 free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events nationwide at over 120 museums and cultural organizations. Find out if there is anything going on in your area.


Bank of America Free Museums: If you have a Bank of America Credit, Debit or ATM card, you can get free admission to over 100 participating museums, zoos and science centers the first weekend of every month.




Free Things to Do:
Visit a local farmers’ market.
Visit the Library.
Tour a local police or fire station.
Attend one of Lowe’s Free Build and Grow Workshops for Kids, Home Depot or Michael's.
Bike or Walk our local trails:
Visit a local nursing home.
Camp out in your own backyard.
